Drivers Age
25 to 99 Years
Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.
Travel Restrictions
Cross Border:
Customers driving outside Switzerland will now have to pay for a Cross Border Fee:
CHF 30.00 per rental (excl. Tax).
Hertz vehicles cannot be driven into the following countries;
Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Macedonia, Morocco, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Tunisia
C.I.S: (Commonwealth of Independent States): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
Middle East Countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen
Hertz vehicles cannot be dropped off in the following countries / territories: Corsica, Gibraltar, Hungary, Malta, Sardinia, Madeira, Canary Islands and Poland.
The following vehicle groups cannot be driven into Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Hungary: H, I, N, P, S, S5, V5, E6, I6, K6, M6, P6, Q6, T6, Y6, Z6
All Hertz vehicles registered in Switzerland display the “Highway Sticker” (vignette) as required by Swiss law to travel on Swiss motorways. The drivers of foreign vehicles entering Switzerland can buy the highway stickers at the customs, Swiss post offices and some gas stations.
Should these restrictions be ignored the driver will be fully liable for the vehicle - all insurance cover will be invalid.
Geneva Airport:
The rental car pick up and return must be within Switzerland. If you should return your rental car at the French part of the airport, a fee of CHF 53.85 .- applies.
